Christmas Wonder ~ Awesome Joy!

Look for Christ and you will find Him. And with Him everything else.
(C.S. Lewis)

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
Isaiah 9:6

Sometimes the most precious and sacred things are right in front of us, in plain sight, but we miss them.

This may be especially true during the season of Christmas . . . This is a beautiful time of the year . . . Trees are draped with sparkling lights, the stores glitter with dazzling decorations, and the streets are busy with crowds of shoppers seeking gifts for those they love.

All of these spectacular displays and decorations that compete for our attention can be striking and uplifting, but if that’s all we see, then we’re missing something that’s in plain sight . . . Sometimes, despite our best intentions, we fail to see with our hearts what is essential and most sacred . . . the celebration of the birth of the Child, a Savior, for all the world!

In an age when vast amounts of knowledge are at our fingertips, the familiar story of Jesus Christ gets lost in the middle of the flood of pressing news or the latest movies or books.

ARE YOU WATCHING – eyes wide open? Mind engaged? . . . looking for the presence of Christ in your life?

In spite of our good intentions, we can miss the sights and wonder of the Holy Spirit and so miss receiving the Christmas testimony of the coming of Jesus Christ . . . so  . . .

Close your eyes and share the dream that everyone on Earth believe!

THE CHRISTMAS STORY . . . God’s Greatest Gift of All

The Birth of Jesus Christ

“In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered.
This was the first registration when Quirinius was governor of Syria.
And all went to be registered, each to his own town.
And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth to Judea, to the city of David,
which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David,
to be registered with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child.”
